Noughts and Crosses may well have been invented in Portugal, did you know?

It also goes by other names, such as Jogo da Velha or 3 in a row!

This game has extremely simple rules. In fact, it presents no great difficulty and is easily learnt.

So, some urban legends say the game was born in Portugal, in the city of Almada in the year 545. However, it was only popularised in the year 1500, by the explorer Pedro Álvares Cabral, who loved playing this game during his voyages. Álvares Cabral is said to have decided that this game would be the first to be taught to the indigenous people in Brazil.
